Let’s remember that a TV show started as Big brother Africa in 2014, But due to a ravaging launching, the program faced some bureaucratic issues , internal variance, and eventually , a lack of sponsorship. Following that Big Brother Naija made its way back to our screen after the long term break from its first edition in 2006.
BigBrother Naija Popularly known as BBN or BBNaija is well known for its strong escapist components . Nigerians usually face different challenges every day . Now watching the characters’ display their actual selves on the screen through out the show is so satisfying with the huge followers and fans on social media.As a result, BBN has a been a freewheeler for fans, viewers, and generally, every Nigerian who loves pop culture. Looking at it from this direction, The enormous TV show is known by its economic value . In fact, the show is profitable to everyone who engaged in it either in promotion, advertising, production. After leaving the house , every participant is most likely in a better financial position, everyone who engages in the show always comes out on top.
Every season has it’s own different style, content, participants, and most likely different branding. Starting from the first BBN to the present one.

BIG BROTHER NAIJA – SEASON 1
(ALL STARS)
Let’s start from the maiden season titled “All stars” . It started in the year 2006 with 14 housemates , lasted for 92days (or 13weeks), with the prize money as 100,000naira , which was won by katung Aduwak Ebuka who is the current host of the BigBrother Naija show also featured as a contestant , but who couldn’t make it past the 8th week of the show.
BIG BROTHER NAIJA – SEASON 2
( SEE GOBE )
The secondseason with the slogan “see gobe “ . It started by January 22, 2017 and lasted for 78days. Ex- housemate Ebuka Obi- uchendu played as the host for this season ,two fake house mates were introduced half way in this season with names , Jon Ogah and Ese Eriata , to add more spice to the show. BBN see gobe started off with fourteen housemate with equal sexuality. Efe was emerged as the winner at the end of this season with a cash price of 25million Naira and a brand new KIA soweto with bisola as his first runner up.
BIG BROTHER NAIJA- SEASON 3
(DOUBLE WAHALA)
This third edition of BBN was called “double wahala “ this season lasted for 85weeks , in this season, the participants were teamed up in twos, and Miracle Ikechukwu was announced the winner at the end of the double wahala season with a grand prize worth 45million naira.
BIG BROTHER NAIJA – SEASON 4
(PEPPER DEM)
Big brother naija season 4 also known as “pepper dem” and it ran for over 3months with 21 housemates, after auditioning several persons across the country. A week after the show started , two housemates were evicted . No one ever thought Avala and Isolomo would have left in the first week, this was so shocking for the housemates and of course the viewers and fans. Now in this season big brother introduced new housemates into the house and it left the housemates a bit confused and as well as the viewers and fans. Mercy Eke was crowned the winner of this season ,and also the first female winner of the reality tv show, leaving the show with 60million naira cash prize.
BIG BROTHER NAIJA- SEASON 5
(LOCKDOWN)
This edition was theme the lockdown edition because it happened during the lockdown period when the country was in pandemic. It aired on july 19 2020 on Africa Magic and the live feed on DSTV channel 198 and GOTV channel 29. Hosted by Ex – housemate Ubi-Uchendu Ebuka from season 1. Winner of this show was Lekan accompanied by Dorathy as the runner up. He won 85million naira worth of prize . This season contained 20housemates and it lasted for 71days.
BIG BROTHER NAIJA -SEASON 6
(SHINE YA EYE)
This season was themed “shine ya eye” . As the time of writing this ,the big brother naija season 6 was the last concluded season . This season was won by white money.
